How can I get to Malaga to see Davis Cup Finals? We would like to provide some tips on how to get the best rates to arrive to the tournaments. How can I get from Rome / Milano / Paris or another location to Malaga?

There are Ryanair flights connecting Malaga to Rome, Milano, and other cities in Italy, France, Germany and other countries in Europe.


The closest airport is Aeropuerto de Malaga - Costa del Sol airport

You can choose any ticket search engine, for example Ryanair website, edreams, skyscanner etc.


To consider: the Finals are usually played late, so you may need to consider travelling next day after the tournament final match. i.e. the tournament takes place on 22.11.2022 - 27.11.2022, if you got the full pass, your ideal travelling dates would be 21.11.2022 - 28.11.2022.

How to get from the airport to Malaga?


Option 1: by car.

Depending on the traffic situation, it takes about 20-30 minutes to get from the Malaga Costa del Sol airport to Malaga city center by car.


Option 2: by train.

There are several trains departing from Malaga Costa del Sol airport towards the city.

Take the train to Málaga María Zambrano (8-10 minutes by train) or to Málaga Centro-Alameda (10-15 minutes by train) station depending on the location where you stay.

Option 3: by bus

There is an express bus line connecting Malaga airport with the City center (bus stop Alameda Principal). Depending on the traffic, it would take you around 30 minutes to get from the Airport to the City Center.

How to choose where to stay?

You can decide if you'd like to stay at a hotel, or at a rented apartment, which are two different ways of living your experience when travelling abroad. The event will take place in Palacio de Deportes José María Martín Carpena, which is situated not far from the airport. You can choose to stay in Malaga city center if you're travelling by car of by public transport, as there is a Metro station (L2, Palacio de los Deportes) near the tournament venue.

Are there any hotels situated in walking distance from the event location?

As per search results on 18.10.2022 there are rooms available only in a 4-star Hilton Garden Inn

not far from the Tournament venue (20 minutes walking distance).


Where the event takes place? How can I find it when I'm there?

The event will take place in Palacio de Deportes José María Martín Carpena. The venue is situated close to "Palacio de los Deportes" metro station, and it takes 5 min. by foot to get from the metro station to the venue.


How to find the event location when travelling by car?

Search for Palacio de Deportes Martin Caprena in your navigator.




Your visit to Malaga Davis Cup Finals can be not only about sports. Malaga has a lot to offer to it’s visitors, even in November: from the Historic Monuments, Museums and Parks to the Restaurants and sea promenades.


Must-visit places for each category should be


Monuments and Parks: discover Malaga Roman Theater (I st century), and then take a walk inside of the Alcazaba de Málaga (VIII century) reaching the Gibralfaro Castle, and admiring the City and the Sea view. Beautiful both during the day and on the sunset.

Churches and Museums: Malaga Cathedral is impossible when walking in the Old city. Do not miss a chance to visit not only the Cathedral, but it’s rooftop too, specially beautiful after the sunset. Don’t miss Museo Picasso de Málaga in Picasso’s native city! The museum is situated the heart of the Old city, close to the Roman Theater and to the Cathedral. The museum opened in a historic building in 2003 posses over 230 objects of art created by Picasso - among them the paintings, sculptures, drawings, graphic work and ceramics.


Another interesting place to visit is MIMMA - Interactive Museum of Music Malaga. The aim the museum is to place the visitor in a dialogue with the exhibition. Apart from the collection of musical instruments from all over the world (from all eras), it offers “Please to play” rooms, in there the public is encouraged to try to learn playing different instruments!



Restaurants

One of the most emblematic places in Málaga that has opened its doors over 40 years ago, a meeting place for all Malagueños, young and old, a place with great atmosphere and food is the restaurant and bar El Pimpi. Don’t forget to make your reservation if you are planning to visit it in the evenings or during the week-end.
